The NBI Mission
After many years as colleagues in New York, Drs. Katia Moritz and Jonathan Hoffman came together in 2000 to co-found the Neurobehavioral Institute (NBI). They set out to develop a team of practitioner-scientists who did not just share office space and expenses, but truly collaborate. Today, this dream has been realized in the many specialized and intensive services NBI offers. Our clinical team is an “engine” for translating theories and clinical strategies into reality.
NBI’s mission is to bring the highest quality of evidence-supported psychological care to each and every patient to make a significant and lasting difference in their lives.
Bringing Behavioral Health Services to Weston
NBI offers specialized psychological assessment and treatment services for children, adolescents, and adults. One of our primary goals is to address the needs of patients who lack specialized resources where they live. We further aim to provide high-quality services for those with severe and complex symptoms or challenging co-morbidities. NBI offers intensive treatment for many serious and debilitating psychological conditions, including an internationally recognized intensive treatment program for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Severe Anxiety, and Related Disorders. This program is often provided in combination with NBI Ranch, our nearby supported living setting for patients who need a higher level of structure and support to make desired progress.
Care Tailored to Each Individual
Understanding the unique cultural backgrounds of each person is also part of “the NBI way.” In this spirit, Spanish and Portuguese-speaking patients can receive treatment in their native language. In addition to our work with individuals and families coming from all over the US, NBI clinicians provide services for many international patients, either at our center or through workshops or consultations in their own countries. We have consulted with patients or family members from South America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
NBI staff members contribute to the field of psychology by publishing articles and books, serving on scientific and clinical advisory boards, speaking at local, national, and international conferences, and by volunteering their services to psychology-related organizations. NBI supports the future of Clinical Psychology through an APPIC accredited postdoctoral training program. Our staff members receive continuous opportunities for professional development, including out-of-state travel for specialized training.

AND MEMBERSHIPS
Neurobehavioral Institute (NBI) is an official Institutional Member of the International Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Foundation (IOCDF). Drs. Hoffman and Moritz are members of the Scientific and Clinical Advisory Board of IOCDF.

Drs. Hoffman and Moritz have served on the faculty of the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI). Both are Board Certified in Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology.

NBI is an APICC approved Postdoctoral Residency Program that is also part of the Universal Psychology Postdoctoral directory. NBI has been a CogMed provider facility since 2008.
