Andrea Lacayo, Psy.D.
Andrea Lacayo, Psy.D., is a Postdoctoral Resident at NBI. Dr. Lacayo received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Florida International University and her master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. During her time at Nova Southeastern University, she received specialized training in treating anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety, trauma and stress related disorders, social anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders.

Dr. Lacayo completed her doctoral internship at Florida State University's Counseling and Psychological Services Center, where she provided comprehensive mental health services to college students, including short-term individual and group therapy, intake sessions, psychological assessments, outreach, and consultation.

Dr. Lacayo’s therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She has experience working with a wide range of clinical presentations, such as adjustment issues, depression, anxiety, and trauma/stress-related disorders. Dr. Lacayo enjoys working from a CBT standpoint while integrating different elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to best support her clients' needs.
